Hojat-ol-Islam Mojtaba Mohammadi, the director of the Meshkat Quranic Institute, at a press conference on Sunday named Jalil Ashrafi, Ali Akbar Basaeri, Mohammad Javad Golchin, Ahmad Hosseini, Mostfa Savari, Ali Reza Makkari, Akbar Mehdi Josheqani, Mohammad Javad Hashemi, and Ami Yunesi from Iran, Jomaa Abdul Ghani from Nigeria and Seyed Amir Hashemi from Afghanistan as the top winners of the Quranic event.
He said the winners will be awarded at the closing ceremony on Wednesday.
It will be held with the participation of a limited number of winners given the coronavirus situation, he said, adding that the program will be broadcast live on the Quran TV and Quran Radio.
According to Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammadi, some 4,000 individuals from Iran and a number of other countries took part in the competition, which was organized virtually.
The evaluation of the contender’s performances in final round concluded by the panel of arbiters last Wednesday, he noted.
The competition is aimed at enhancing Quranic activities and promoting the Quranic spirituality in society, the cleric stated.
While this year’s contest was for men and boys with no age limits, he said the Iranian institute plans to organize the competition for both men and women in two age groups of under and above 16 next year.
